Font licensing audits are a crucial step in the creative process. You may know them by many names: creative project reviews, project auditing, pre-press review, EULA checks, license scans, quality control, and more.

These reviews are a crucial step in production and help ensure licensing compliance. However, they’re not exactly fun. Let’s just say that most folks would rather not cross-reference spreadsheets on a Monday morning.

A few months ago, we introduced Connect + Insight as part of our Creative Intelligence Suite. This innovation allows users to scan supported Adobe files with Project Risk Scanning and get a report on font license compatibility. Project Risk Scanning practically automates the tedious process of a project review when it comes to fonts. Frees up time, reduces human error, decimates obnoxious busywork—you know, everything we here at Extensis are all about.

But for that reporting to be accurate, font license information must be recorded in Connect + Insight. We’ve heard from customers that they could use some help speeding up the process. It turns out the pre-audit workflow is also a pain that requires some healing vibes.

Enter Data Assist.

Data Assist: Invoice Speed Reader

Data Assist allows users to record font license information in Connect + Insight from a font license invoice through a simple drag and drop or browse/select action.

Data Assist extracts and records the necessary license information, and you’re done. Although we recommend a quick once-over to verify that the license type and number of seats were accurately scanned from the font license invoice.

Connect + Insight users can try out Data Assist today—an awesome prelude to the feast of time savings that is Project Risk Scanning.
